While at the Paramita please follow these simple rules
Use modest, restrained speech observing the precept to
avoid false speech, harsh speech, and foolish or useless speech.
When sharing a room with others, be kind, considerate,

others.

socializing. Only authorized persons may be in the kitchen.
When you leave, make sure that you have cleaned up
your cabin (kuti) for the next person and don't leave any of your personal
items behind.
Do not read anything while eating.
Telephones: You may use the telephone for a short
message using your credit card or calling collect. Limit your calls to no
more than five minutes.
E-mail and internet access are not available only
with permission of the officer-in-charge.
As there are people already assigned for feeding the
animals,
please do not feed them.
Always keep to well lit, open routes.

The Centre wants to insure your well being while you
are here. If you see or think you see anyone behaving in a suspicious
manner, please inform a member of the staff. Your prompt action will be

In the Meditation Hall
Shoes or slippers are to be removed upon entering
any building or kuti, especially the
Meditation Hall, Library or dining hall.
Upon entering and leaving the Meditation Hall, meditators face the altar and offer a gesture of respect to the Buddha,
Dhamma, and Sangha, either with a single bow or Triple Prostration (optional
for non-Buddhist meditators).
If you have to come late to the Meditation Hall,
please make sure that you come in very quietly and sit quietly without
dropping your cushion.
As a matter of respect and etiquette, it is considered
inappropriate to point the soles of one's feet toward a monk, nun or Buddha
image. Please be aware of your posture in the Meditation Hall accordingly;
do not stretch legs out toward the altar and do not lounge or sprawl on the
floor. Do not lie down in the hall without the permission of the teacher.
Please consider the toilet attached to the Meditation
Hall as meant only for the use of those engaged in meditation.
Always try to attend the pujas which are conducted
daily in the shrine room.
Be of exemplary behavior befitting a Buddhist
practioner.
Our staff are adequately paid. Therefore, we kindly
ask you to refrain from offering any tips to them. This creates problems
amongst them and hinders our administration. If you feel that you wish to
show your appreciation by making any monetary offer, please put your
contribution in the box marked for this purpose. Our management will
distribute this collection appropriately.
